An entertaining action flick, where right and wrong feel like murky concepts, Triple 9 follows a group of robbers, some of whom are corrupt police. When they complete a job foisted on them by a gang who have one of their children, they are forced to attempt a last job, but to do it they plan to kill a police officer to draw attention away from the target.
The ensemble cast are all excellent, and are plenty of entertaining twists, with no one coming off looking entirely like the good guy. Along with the action sequences, that’s what makes this film interesting. The stakes are high, and whilst you’ll partly want to see them succeed, you won’t want them to kill the cop they have their eye on.
In some places it feels a little long, and there are a few characters, each with their own motivations, to keep track of, but it all works and comes together nicely.
See It If: you’re looking for an action or cop film, it’s pretty good.
