A 60’s era exploitation B movie that’s full of hysteria and excellent camera work, this film purports to lift the lid on the insane asylums of America with the story of a journalist undercover in a mental institution to solve a murder and get himself a Pullitzer Prize. Unusual, always interesting, this film is rumoured to be the one that inspired Shutter Island.
