Isn’t this award pretty? I’m really happy to have received this, thank you so much, Dazed Muse, this means a lot to me. So how does this work? The Rules are below, with my story, and the nominations…

So, How Did I Get Started?

Hmmm. I’m not sure, in a way. I’m a filmmaker and screenwriter, and a camera operator friend of mine mentioned that he had a blog to keep his SEO for his website strong. I think that that planted the seed of the idea, and I liked sharing my news and thoughts with other who either liked my work or who loved movies. But then the FDA looked at my blog, I started being invited to attend their movie screenings, and then other outlets wanted to have me write for them, and I got more screening invites and… Well, it all just took off.

I think some of you know that I have a second blog that I write, about fashion, beauty and books, which has also got some interest, and it’s loads of fun!

My Advice To Bloggers?

Talk to people. That is, comment and read other people’s blogs, and get on Instagram or Twitter or whatever social media you already love, because the blogging community is so lovely and really supportive. It really makes it fun to engage with people and to hear about films or other things that you might not have otherwise some across.

I think the other thing is to keep it fun. I hear other bloggers sometimes talking about burning out, and I think sometimes that happens when you stop writing about what you love or expressing your true self in order to make sales or be popular, or even to stick to some kind of inhuman schedule. Keep it fun, make sure it’s the thing on your to-do list that you look forward to. For me, I love movies, and I love screenings and red carpets. Automatically fun. But I’m not afraid to turn down a screening if I’m overloaded with work, because that would not be fun and my blog would suffer.
